What is a Warm-Up Mentor Video?

Before you start the Champion Mindset lessons with your students, be sure to introduce them to their Warm-Up mentor!

What is a Warm-Up mentor?

Each grade level has a consistent Warm-Up mentor who will share very brief videos near the beginning of each lesson. The videos are embedded in the lesson plans, within either the Opening Activity or Guided Practice sections.

Warm-up videos serve a few purposes:

  1. Introduce students to their new athlete mentor for each topic.
  2. Provide a preview into the focus of that day’s lesson, along with a personal story.
  3. Offer scaffolding for some lesson concepts that students may be less familiar with or are more complex.
  4. Get students to start thinking and talking about the topics that they will explore together.
